August 16th, Chris and I celebrated our one year anniversary!! It's crazy how FAST time really does fly. It seems like just yesterday we got married and now here we are no longer newlyweds? My goodness, sometimes it seems a little too ridiculous. We decided a while ago that we wanted to go back to Disneyland for our Anniversary but also that we'd rather go in September when it's not as busy. So we've been saving ever since and a couple of weeks ago we bought our tickets! SO exciting when they came in the mail. Since that is going to be our BIG anniversary celebration, we didn't do a whole lot on the actual day. But we couldn't let it go by without doing anything so we went to Carmel to have a picnic on the beach. It was so nice and relaxing, absolutely perfect! Then we came home and had some dinner at my mom's house. Afterwards we cut our year old cake which actually tasted pretty good, (well kinda, all things considering, it wasn't that bad, except for the icing which tasted like cardboard). We also had a toast with some Sparkling Pear cider and just enjoyed being together.
Here we are getting ready to leave for Carmel.
I just had to make it all pretty.
I know this looks posed, but we really
ARE about to take a bite.
Chris didn't like it very much.
Backing up a little, that morning our alarm went off in the morning and Chris got up to bring me my presents in bed. He bought me two paperback books to add to my Caldecott medal book collection. (For those that don't know, the Caldecott medal is given to one picture book a year for having the best illustrations. One of my goals is to have a big collection of these books for when I become a teacher, or just to read to my kids. I already own 4 so I think I'm well on my way. 3 of those were given to me by my hubby). Another sidenote, apparently for first year anniversaries you're supposed to give paper, hence why the paperbacks he got me. He also bought me 17 Again which we saw in theaters and loved. It has a really good message to it and is pretty funny. Then he had me go into the living room and look in my glass cabinet which holds my precious moments collection. He had bought me another one to add. It was one that had a man and a woman together sitting on a couch and reading a book together. They're older and the book is titled "Our Life Together." So cute! I loved it.
I truly think that married life is the best and I highly recommend it!
