As mentioned on a previous post, my father-in-law works for the Giants so naturally, he is a Giants fan. Given that, I thought it would be nice to give him a "Giants" themed cake for his birthday, however, a couple of days before his birthday I got into working with cupcakes (see previous post) and so I thought it'd be cool to make a cupcake "giants" themed cake. I originally was going to make each cupcake into a baseball, but then thought it would be cool to put them all together and have one BIG ball made up of small cupcakes. I used Twizzlers to make the "stiches" on the ball and then used chocolate to make the letters. I tried use make the chocolate black to really match the Giants logo but it ended up not working so I had to settle for brown. I think it turned out pretty well if I do say so myself.
