Let's Party like it's 2009!

So way back in the beginning of our relationship. This is pre-dating or even talking much, Chris and I went to SF with a bunch of friends from church. On the way home I had my camera and started to tape Chris as I asked him a bunch of silly questions and then I asked him when his birthday was. He said December 1st and I said "really? oh my gosh mine is December 2!" Exactly like that, in a very excited manner and in that moment I imagined us celebrating our birthdays together, not just that year but for many years to come. Yes, in that moment I thought, this is the man I'm going to marry. I know, I know it's a little ridiculous, ok ALOT ridiculous but I really thought that we were meant to be because our birthdays were so close. Well about a month later we went on a date and a couple of months after that we were officially a couple. At the end of the year we had a combined "surprise" party and a year later we were engaged. And now here we are in fact celebrating our birthdays together for MANY many (let's hope) years to come.

This year we kept things pretty low key  because as struggling married college students we're pretty low on the money issue. We bought our presents for each other during black friday (when they were the cheapest) and exchanged them sunday night so that we could use them the following day. That Monday we saw New Moon in theaters and had a good laugh watching it. Then on Chris' actual birthday we saw A Christmas Carol. On my actual birthday we went to BJ's for dinner and then watched 2012 which was surprisingly not that bad.

Here we are right after a delicious dinner and excellent dessert

My mom made a cake for us on Tuesday but we wanted to share it and cut it with her and my dad so we had to wait till Thursday to eat it. A lot of people always ask if I make my own birthday cakes but I don't like to. Probably because it takes a lot of work and since I'm the one making it it kinda takes the fun out of the finished product that only gets seen for a bit before it's gobbled away. The cake that my mom made is a double layers with chocolate cake at the bottom and some flan on top. It's quite delicious! Here's some picture of that celebration:

It was a small cake but I wanted us to have some candle
to blow out so I put 26 on his side and 22 on mine.

We blew them all out with one try, let's hope our wishes come true!
