The Big Waiting Game

When you're pregnant everyone wants to know how you're doing and feeling. For me, the answer has always been pretty much the same... "I'm doing pretty good."  And usually the response to that is "Really?!? You're feeling ok?" To which I sometimes want to say "yeah, I'm just pregnant, it's not like I'm dying." But I don't because it would probably sound rude, and that is the least of my intentions, I just really do happen to be feeling pretty good!

Well, then you fast forward to the last month of pregnancy and everyone tells me that it's always the hardest and the worst. But even now, that I'm two weeks away from my due date, I find myself feeling ok for the most part. I mean yeah I'm tired and yes I have a huge belly, but other than the lack of sleep I feel ok. In fact it's only late at night and early in the morning when I'm trying to sleep and can't get comfortable that I remind my little Hector that we'd be totally fine if he decided to be born that day =).

This is all a little surprising because I remember telling Chris (well actually warning him) that I was probably going to be the worst pregnant lady ever because I'm such a wimp when it comes to any kind of pain or sickness. Luckily, Heavenly Father probably knew this too and decided to give Chris (and myself) a break and let me have a pretty easy pregnancy.

Still, I'm not saying that I want to be pregnant forever. Even though I feel ok, I'd much rather feel ok with a cute little baby in my arms. And really I've come to realize that the hardest part of the LAST part of your pregnancy is the waiting and uncertainty. (For example, it's hard to make any plans for the month of October because I don't know if I'll be pregnant, or in the hospital or with a newborn or with a two-week old.. etc. etc.) And then there's the waiting for when you're little one will decide to make his grand entrance. It could be today, tomorrow or two weeks from now. Let's just hope it's sooner rather than later!
