Funny how things work..
Back in November I applied for a scholarship that was being given through the Senate Faculty at Sac State. If I won, I would have all my Spring Semester fees paid by them which is roughly about $2,500. I got an email from them last week in which I found out that I didn't win. I was a little bummed (who wouldn't be?) and yet surprisingly I felt pretty ok about it. I kinda brushed it off and figured (and hoped) that the people who did win, needed it more than I did. The only problem however, was that although I had known it would be possible that I wouldn't win, I had forgotten to think about how we would pay for my schooling in that scenario. So here I was thinking how in the heck am I going to get $670 to pay for school next week?!? And then, I get a call from Sac State telling me my other scholarship had come in (this one only pays for half my semester) which was really surprising as I had only sent the paperwork in a couple of weeks ago and it normally takes about 6 weeks to process! On top of that I've had quite a few people ask me about making some cakes for them in the following months. (extra income!)So how in the heck am I going to pay for the rest of my schooling this semester? I don't know exactly, but I feel it's something I don't need to worry about too much, because I'm pretty sure the Lord already has a plan in store.

wow, that's great Irma! COngrats! And how much do you charge for cakes? For future reference?
ReplyDeleteThanks Tammy! I'm working on figuring out estimates for cakes but it's really hard because it really depends on size, design, and materials. They start from about $25 for and 8-inch though.
